Love it! I am all about shopping on the outside rim of the grocery store...who needs the center isles, really? Think about how much smaller grocery stores could be if they only shelved fresh, non-processed foods! Incredible :)

Wow! This is great to know! I should have read this post a long time ago (and am excited to use this recipe in the future) because I can't eat dairy and could not enjoy a slice of our pumpkin pie this year. Thanks for sharing this!

Fortunately, I was never a soda kid...but it's hard for me to steer clear of chocolate. I find having sweet fruit in the house, like grapes, help to curb this...and having them out on the counter where they are easily accessible, makes all the difference in the world. Great article. Thanks for the interesting statistics. They really make you stop and think.

We rarely buy canned foods and never buy "pre-packaged" dinners. Once you have taken the time to make a "real" meal, you won't like the taste or texture of frozen meals. Kraft Dinner, frozen pizza or TV dinners are not to be found in our house. We buy fresh produce and all our meat at a local butcher.
Great article, Kelly.

I love this recipe. I have made something similar. I am off wheat right now so would use gluten free pie crust which I can buy here in Portland in the frozen foods of the supermarket! I have discovered that every recipe can be adjusted to be healthier, with much less sugar or substitute with honey- still not good for blood sugar issues but better in other ways.

Very sound advise! The less processed food that enters my body the better! It makes such a difference in how I feel. Baby steps for beginners, and every little step helps! Keep educating the public as this message is so valuable!
